N. Lalitha obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. Her research focuses on the socio economic issues arising as a result of strengthening intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical sector in India and elsewhere. She is also looking at the role of intellectual property rights in diffusing agricultural biotechnology particularly the transgenic seed varieties. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Industrial Relations, University of California, Berkeley, University of British Columbia, Vancouver Canada, Maison Des Sciences De HOMME, Paris and INRA-Universite Pierre Mendes France, Grenoble. |
